Shopping Delhi

I had an experience yesterday. Thanks to my workplace, I everyday pass by the ‘The Great India Place’, the swankiest-latest entrant in the out-of-home shopping-cum-entertainment business. I was aware of ‘mothercare’, UK’s leading maternity, infant and baby products chain of stores who have a fantastic and really classy range to offer, their products now available in our very own Noida at Shopper’s Stop at THE Great India Place and decided to check out.

I hate to pay 30 bucks for parking at a mall that makes you walk so much, but I have no choice.

I was pregnant about three years back and how I longed for these products! I had to get people to send across Mothercare’s massage creams and other stuff because I was told that this was the best one could use. And it was! But available only in the Gaffar Markets of the world. And then I had my baby. Again I had to ask people to send onesies, sleeping suits, cream talcs and baby sunscreens that really are not available around.

Mothercare (http://www.mothercare.com) wing at Shopper’s Stop had everything new parents can ask for - at a price, ofcourse… but then most of us are prepared to shell out that much, for our bundles of joy (actually not, it takes a while to realise that a piece of cloth, 10% your size costs as much as yours, if not more!) There are clothes (about as expensive at Liliput), footwear and toys for infants, toddlers and babies. They also have baby furniture - cribs, bassinets, high chairs, potty seats (better than Jhandewalan Cycle Market), strollers and car seats - which was quite a find. And all this is quite well priced if you are accustomed to buying from Designz or Lifestyle’s Junior range of products. They also have infant essentials - bottles, feeding equipment and toiletaries.

All in all, I hated giving birth a while ago and not now
